Note: any wiring I've posted on plans or in this forum are for the USA. You would have to figure out what works best in your country of origin (or if someone has done it, and I know some have, they could post the wiring they used for their country). I say this because most of us "Yanks" only think in USA terms and forget about how different things can be elsewhere (not a knock on the U.S. because I'm sure where ever you live you're inclined to think so. "There's nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so" Anyway, the picture shows what to do if you clip your power cord and fine brown, blue, and green with yellow stripe instead of black, white, solid green. Note: this wiring is for the 120VAC in / 7.5kV out neg. Ion Gen. (The wiring for the 12VDC in / 15kV out gen. is different) Brown for Hot (or called live outside the USA) this connects to the black wire on the Neg. Ion Gen. Blue for Neutral (this wire goes to the White wire) Green or green with Yellow stripes for Ground (also known as "Earth") This wire connects to your alligator clip or ground plate- depending on type of flocking unit you are making. Hello, Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and so easy ideas. I'm making a flocking cabinet and got my negative ion generator from Hong Kong, so it is different from yours. I already understood how to connect all the wires, but came here because I have this colors in the ion generator: there are 2 thin, common wires: black and red, and another thicker white wire, which instead of the usual metallic tip, has some sort of little painting brush at the end. This kind-of-like-brush seems to be made by some sinthetic, soft fibers, like nylon. Logics make me think that red wire is hot, black is neutral and the thicker one (white) is high voltage out, but I'm not quite sure and don't want to ruin the ion generator or cause an accident. Could you give some advise? Do you think I should remove the little brush from the white wire? Hope you can help me. Thanks a lot!! :-)

First I would need to know what the input voltage is?

Hello Ray, thanks a lot for your answer . Here in Mexico voltage is 110-120 volts. The negative ion generator is marked AC 110 volts/60 hz. In the item description they specified it could work untill 120 volts with no problems. Thanks again, and I apologize for the grammar/spelling mistakes ;D.

I would assume that the Red and black are + and - (Hot and Neutral) and the white is the HV out. I still would use a 3 wire input plug and hook the Hot to hot and neutral to neutral. The green Would go to the ground clip or plate which ever the case may be.

Ok Ray, thanks a lot for your help. I'll tell you later how my device works. Nice evening!
