either denatured alcohol or plain rubbing alcohol will get it soft and you can use a thumb nail or Popsicle stick to scrape off the old flock. I was given something that has been useful- it's a lottery ticket scratch-er made of plastic and it works very good. Do not use anything that can cut into the head and very strong strippers may remove the face paint. It's better to soften the glue up and use some time and muscle than ruin the head for good. At least that's my take on it. The back side of a pair of kids scissors could help if carefully used. All it takes is a good nick on the nose and you ruin the head.

Excellent Tutorial!

Yes this is true because not only will the reflock be uneven, but you'll get hard glue spots due to the epoxy encapsulating the stray hairs.
