Here is another one of my sons projects. He made a Star Wars themed Tatooine building. It is made out of foamcore with acrylic paints and little pieces out of the junk box for decoration, and then the figures placed around. He did some research and the sign says "The Jawa Shop"

Thanks Ray. He like reading the replies that get left, but he doesn't want to sign up to any forums.

Let him know to keep with it. His talents have the potential to take him far in life.
I press this with my kids to make life what they want it to be before life takes over and forces you to do what you need to in-order to survive.
My son wants to work for Pixar- after seeing the video on-line of what it's like there. I had to let him know that it'll take hard work to get there and it's not just playing games and eating snacks like the video, but he can make it happen if he works hard at it.

Traud, It's great that you've influenced your son to make his own items! In today's world most kids aren't motivated in doing anything. All they do is watch TV and video games. I know when I was young my friends and I were always making things and doing new hobbies all the time. We always kept ourselves busy doing something. I learned to do many things from my Father. He always was fixing things around the house plus he was into all the hobbies my Brother and I started. So tell him to keep it up and it will lead to bigger and better things down the road. Rob

Thanks Ray, I try to keep him doing creative things, a little artistic guidance along the way...if you will.
Rob, thank you to. I think the big part with him making stuff is that he is like I was. I always hated when they made toys and accessories that were way under scale. The difference is, back then all I had were shoe boxes, cardboard, and white glue, there are way more things available to create with today...well that and he has a parent that has access to getting even better supplies to work with ex: molding and casting and flocking. Man if I could have had this stuff back when I was a kid...who knows how life may have been different.
