This isn't so much a project as it is an upcoming project...I think I'll be busy for a while.

There area some good heads in the mix, and they all seem to be the Air Adventurers. The one head is perfect mint, and that is the guy wearing the helmet.

Here is a picture of my Intruder with some other Joes for a comparison of height with his molded head, mounted and clothed. Also the other two flocked Joes are by me, the one on the left is a custom color.

Many thanks guys I'm glad you like them. That custom color looks better in person than in the pictures. I gotta say about the MOA guys, back in the day I only ever knew about the Brown hair MOA. Then later on I found out about the blond, then the flocking thing bit and I had to have a red MOA...it only seemed to be the next natural step. Glad i could inspire you in some small way.

Oh yeah, this is good stuff. I can see you having a good market on this new stuff. To think, vintage looking Joe heads that the buyer can feel free to customize without damaging a vintage head. and the cinder blocks are another Dio builders dream. The blocks may be something for Cotswold to look at.

Traud,
Nice!!!!!!!!!! Good idea reproducing the Muscle Body neck posts. I had talked to Ray once about reproducing the Muscle Body Arms, forearms and chest cavity. It would be great if you could find resin that is skin colored. The stuff I use you need to add dye to it, but they don't have tan.

Thanks Ray, I'm glad you like the heads. Pretty much that is how I feel about them..customize away. Cotswold you say....your not working for them are you? I've wanted to things like that for awhile now.

Thanks Rob, I've had the same idea about molding the arms on MBs I really need to a vac/pressure pot. I am making a vac chamber right now...just need to get a few more parts from the supply store, a little epoxy, and I should be good to go.

Traud, Most of the stuff that I cast is without a vacuum chamber and it's a pain. It sucks when you have a great cast and air bubbles pop up in the worst places. People don't know that it's hit or miss on this. Sometimes they're perfect or I fill them and paint it. I made a small vacuum pot when I was casting clear items and it worked great. Like you I have to build a big one for larger molds.
I would love to cast the muscle figure parts, but I'm not happy with painting the casts. I wish I could find a tan urethane. The the neck post, arms and forearms are what people need to fix these figures. I also was looking for the right rivets for the forearms and I can get those. It would be cool to build the entire figure. Rob

Rob,
I hear you about the bubbles popping up in the worst places. I just cast a bulletman helmet and it had a bubble that went 1/4 of the way around the bottom of the helmet. It is hard to tell in those pictures but those are cast in a tinted polyurethane. The other option is plain old bright white...which depends on what you are doing I guess.

Traud,
How did you make the tint? Does the company you use have that skin color? I would love to get some info on the new company you found. I make the dog tags but I have to paint them silver. I tried mixing some paint with the urethane and it was to brittle.

I got another batch of heads and here is the 2nd head I've started on, this time I took a picture before I started. After I washed it and de-linted the hair of this head. The only bad spots are the ones you can see in the picture, and a slight thin spot elsewhere on the head. So now I'm thinking do I flock it or touch it up?
