Traud, I made some wrist pegs also. When casting I have to use a paint brush on the pegs on the mold because of the air bubbles. Did you have that problem? Rob

Rob, My biggest problem is getting the resin into the little tips...I have several sets of half tipped wrist pegs. I can still use them, but to answer your question. I've had one pair that has had big bubbles on the peg itself. I don't do any pre painting, mind you I'm using silicone and not urethane..that may make a difference I'm not sure. I have started to pre fill the little tips and that has helped alot. I'm still working on a vac chamber/pressure pot. I'm trying to so that using the "free-cycling" method.

That's the problem I had as well. I didn't pre-fill them but used a stubby paint brush to the tips to get the air out. Then put the two molds together with pressure on them. I wonder if a pressure chamber would do the trick. Rob

I really think a pressure pot would help a great deal. I'm gonna try to whip up a quick/trial P-pot and see what happens.

Thanks Rob. I think the painted handles and the rivets really add that little extra to the guns.

Here is my latest project a little work in progress. The rubber is still a little soft, I'll have to try some harder rubber.

Hey, I've done this in the past to add a beard to an Adventurer.

It is a great idea, I though of the beard, but this was a lot of work so I can only imagine what a beard would be like.

Here is one of my latest projects, it's an innovative way to give those old Joes some new mobility. I will admit that this takes the correct tools and a pile of patients as well as a thrifty vocabulary of cuss words*. What you have to do is get some arms from a Classic Collection body...you will need that rubber grommet. Then you put that rubber grommet inside the vintage torso and use your tools to slip the grommet over the CC arm post all whilst inside the body cavity...easy...peasy...done. 1st off correct tools Replacement parts: The final result:

Lets say you need hands for your vintage GIjOE. Here is what I did because I had the parts laying around. It is best to use a vintage forearm like the one on the picture. Some are flush and will not look as good when done, it has also been my finding that the diameter of the vintage is a little bigger or smaller on the vintage forearms...these posts happen to slide right in with no modifications at all. The donated parts are from a classic collection GIjOE.

I saved some of those rubber pieces just in case I found a way to use them. Now I have. Awesome!
