A friend of mine who is an enthusiast has enlisted my help to assemble a new flocking unit for him. He found a small dc neg-ion generator from china that works on 12vdc and looks like 4kv - 6kv output (I can't read Chinese..) The part number is JP-D1221. Would this be effective for re-flocking heads? Also, would the second lead from the generator be considered the ground since it's DC, and where does the ground hook to in the flocking process. He said his existing unit works on 8 AA batteries and doesn't have a ground clip, so I'm hoping I can make this work for him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Attachments:

I don't have any trouble flocking a head with 4 to 6 Kv (though I use around 10 to 15 Kv most times for day to day work). The thing that has me stumped is why there are 2 HV leads (which I assume is what the 2 white leads are) I would also assume that the red and black are 12vdc positive red and negative black, but I could be wrong. What leads me to believe the white wires are HV out leads is the heavy HV wire, but without some testing this is only guessing on my part. Again this is guess work, but maybe the reason for the 2 HV out leads are originally used for air filtering of an AC, heating, or fresh air filter and it had 2 plates to capture dust or dirt from a room or a car system. Again this is all guessing and I could be completely wrong since I have never used a unit like it.

I have used this in a setup and it easily flocked an action mans head.
I joined the two white cables together to make the earthing cable.
