Has anyone ever had a head that the adhesive (epoxy) just won't stick to?. It's an eagle eye Joe head and I have tried doing the regular treatment and it won't stick, Ive tried pre cleaning with alcohol, acetone, plain soap and water, and the epoxy just won't stick in certain areas. In cleaning the head I've found it to be sticky, so I'm wondering if is something "leaking" out of the plastic that is reacting with the glue?

I know it sux to use, but you may need some MEK to clean it with. Wear gloves and don't breath it. Also if it still gives you trouble use PVC pipe cleaner (clear) and if that still doesn't work- give the head a light pre-coat with PVC clear adhesive (the multi-use one is best) then scour it a little or use some MEK, Xylene, or Toluene to etch the dried PVC glue and the epoxy should grab to that. On a side note, they also sell some etch solution for plastic and vinyl car parts, these may work. You can make an etch solution with wood glue and MEK. This is a pain to do because you will have to coat the head with the glue MEK solution, flock the head, let it dry, when dry remove the flock and you will see a rough finish that looks like the vintage glue markings.
Many epoxies are not solvent based so they have trouble grabbing on to greasy soft PVC heads. Some are very greasy (even though it doesn't feel like it to the touch.)

Thanks Ray, I'll give the PVC cleaner a whirl. I've never ran into this problem before...it left me scratching my head!
