Ray, To me all the colors combinations you've created look great! I think all of the flockings that we've done look far better than the originals that Hasbro did. I compare my jobs and yours to my originals and they are so much fuller. Every original figure I own is different in color. Not one is the same. I think the neon's do make the new flock look very close to the originals, but I really don't think there's a true perfect match. The other day I purchased a reproduction figure that the GI Joe Club makes and their flockings are not as nice as the ones we have all done. Eventually I may re-do all my figures with your flock. I think you've done a wonderful job with all of this. I do want to try the neon red with the yellow.

Yea, you have to figure from production run to run they would mix up probably huge batches of flock and that would last them a long time and each run or batch mix would have shade differences because of the mix recipe and the color of flock available at the time. I do think the mixes were sort of intentional to make it hard to copy. We have to remember a few other companies jumped on the Flocked Head bandwagon also, but you see that they are for the most part solid colors. Then if you look at early samples pictures and TV Ad's you will see a much shorter flatter flocking on Joe. The fullness of ours is do to the method used to flock. We'll get a much more plush alignment of fibers and because the ground is all over the bottom and not in the head or at the neck base the flock doesn't angle downward, but if anyone is looking for the downward flow to their flocked head you could get that by simply blowing down on he flock before it sets.
I've done 3 of the clubs urban adventurers and I have to say the concept is pretty cool, but the flocking is a horror. I've been trying to contact someone at the club, but for right now they have me on a "pay no mind list", but now that this is catching fire with collectors as seen in the upturn in bidding on ebay balding joes- so soon they'll have to deal with me or at least the color issue because now that people see what is possible they are not going to accept so/so flocking on $100. figures. Off the top of my head I'd say I've done about 75 or so walmart Joes (mostly SA's and AA's) and around 20 club Joes (mostly LA color, SA, and AA's). My biggest of the repro- joes are collectors sending Timeless heads which they later dress in vintage clothes, repro- accessories and a repro- box. Note to those in charge at the collectors club: Answer my emails and jump on this train now because I do see this going underground again and only the hardcore people who have help mold this whole thing with idea's, purchases, support, and artistic effort- only they will stay in the loop. My teacher is planning on walking away from all his private work in the near future and if I can I'd like to step in with his clients.
