Hi Ray! Love your work! This image of a 1971 GI Joe catalog is posted on Aiwaloki's Lair: I'm sure everyone realizes that the picture is not correctly color balanced, but the resulting "marinara red" flocking on the Talking Commander looks pretty cool. Do you think you could duplicate it with your flocking services? Thanks!

This Timeless figure has a similar color intensity, but not the texture.

Actually the picture kind of lies or more over a trick of the camera and lighting. Most of the boxed red hair commanders I've come across have blue eyes and a very odd red hair mix with painted hair under the flocking. I've always assumed that this mix was a first shot by Hasbro to make a red head that eventually they changed, but used up the heads on talkers as they did with the foreign heads years earlier. It's a funny mixture that I always keep track of when I find them. Note: you see a lot of texture to the dark highlights because at that time they would push the flock down more to get a combed effect. This was mainly because their flocking technique wasn't 100% yet and before they started to add 1mm into the 2mm mix. Whether this was a cost cutting move or a way to fill in gaps that using only 2mm will leave, I'm not sure of. On the timeless that color is basically a solid rust that is close to the rusty type heads (bottom picture) I search out for my own collection. I just like the color.

I can get pretty close on the match if I take some time on it. I this pic it's a tad lighter, but with a touch more red it should match up pretty clo to the timeless head. I may be the lighting that makes it seem lighter. It's almost there. Attachments:
