Hi In Poland where I live the cheapest used flocking unit on allegro.pl (like ebay) costs 1800PLN which is almost 600$ so I decided to find something about DIY projects and then i found this forum My freind is building 80-100kV unit from old TV for me, meanwhile i tried to build "lite" version. It was hard to find ion generator as a separate item but after many calls i found 230v (european voltage) 8kV negative ion generator. Last night I've finished it, (onle mesh must be glued to one part and LED mounted). Things needed: -cheap big flashlight -on/off switch -power cable from PC -ground cable (4m) -crocodile clip -wenting tunnel from PC case (head with mesh) -isolation tape Of course drill etc. Everything is working fine but I'm waiting for flock and adhesive delivery today so I can make some tests. My question: is it gonna have enough power to flock for example square 30x30cm or 40x40cm at once? I know that there is a difference but I tried to ionize small pieces of thin paper and of course they flew to ground plate, but after a while, pieces that were near high voltage, flew somewhere else ( i think that everything near ground plate is grounded so it doesn't matter where it flies). I'm worried if that can work. Or i don't understand "technology", maybe ionized fiber won't fly away, i must apply it on a grounded adhesive surface and It will "stand" in adhesive. Here are some pic's and It would be nice to hear that there's nothing to worry about Best regards, Darek

This is beta version, everything must be hot glued and sealed And I think it doesn't matter that i powered ion generator randomly, without matching colors. Of course green is ground but other two cables connected which was first in hand
