I picked up some of that short flock and flocked a Spock and Kirk right off the bat. Did you mix colors or just flock with straight colors? I was up until 3am mixing colors both short and long flocking, boy those sifters come in real handy for that. Next I'm gonna flock some star wars guys for my kids!

Yes the 3am mixing- know it well. Goes with the flocking habit I guess.
yes I mixed the colors, but spock is just black. I am also planning some Star Wars flocking. Lots of ideas have been brewing on that front. I just need to get to them.

My modern Black Talking Commander. A little project that I've wanted to do for a while now. Repro Joe flocked- body parts modded to fit a vintage Talker torso dyed brown. I originally had the standard green clothes on him, but thought he could use a little cool upgrade. Attachments:

The figure looks like the character from the 70's movie Shaft. Nice job!

Now that is a Nice looking figure. It reminds me of a project that I've wanted to do for a while now, an all black adventure team with appropriate colored hair, but I could never get enough figures for it, and I never thought of dying. what did you use to dye the white Joe body?

I think that one was Rit dye in a heated pot on the grill burner. I thought of it awhile back after seeing a kid dye his goalie mask.

Thanks for the name of the dye. Do you have a pic of the dyed body compared to hte original body color?

Oh you could tell the difference for sure, but I think some could do it and you'd never know if they played with the color a little and used a surfactant to penetrate the plastic thoroughly.

Oh gees...I have enough problems just mixing flock let alone dyes for plastic. Maybe down the road.

Flocked Han! even the extra short flock power is a little long for this size figure. I did a Chewie, but it's border line whether I like it or not. Need to work out some texture to it. Attachments:

Those look supertastamagnaific BTW that is not bearded Spock that is evil Spock ;D That flocked collar is a great idea. I also did a Han solo an chewie flock, the kids like them, after a while it grows on you.

I toyed around with this outfit on many different figures and finally came up with something I truely like. I was selling this head on ebay with another for more or less cost because I jumped the gun and bought too many of the same head after my son asked for a AA MOA flocked in black. It didn't sell and as I bagged up the head and put it in away I thought maybe I have enough parts to piece together a body for him. Then looking at the jacket I tried it out. Now to get him maybe a cool German Shepard and a Hum-V or even a cool motorcycle to complete him. If the motorcycle maybe a little "bandit" type dog like Johnny Quest. Attachments:

1st test shot of 6mm/2mm/1mm flock mix to create a longer hairstyle. Over all it's pretty good. I now need to work out the style flow of the fibers. Attachments:

Thanks! The cool thing is all the heads in that picture are now headed to Brazil and one to Germany. From forgotten to world travelers...lol!
It's cool to wonder if they'll ever end up back here in the States.
On the long flock- I've been asked to do a Luke Skywalker. Can't wait to try it out.

I had this posted in Trauds projects, but decided not to hyjack is thread. Well I had to test this out with 2mm Flock to see if I could do it free hand. I loved the idea (awesome idea Traud) and always thought of doing it on the side or top of the head. Traud is right about needing a template of some kind because by eye it looks pretty even, but in a picture you can see that it's off. If I get a good system down for this I may offer this for those who want it. Still needs some practice though. Check out Trauds projects for the original creator of this idea. Yarmulke A.T. Looks good, but the more I look at it it looks like a cap is on his head. Like a Jewish religious cap. I think if the hair was all red it wouldn't look like a hat.

Looks good Ray. The one I did was the short flock and was my first attempt, after which I thought it would look better in longer flock. I am actually looking into getting a template made up so the AT looks and stays even for each gluing.
